Horseradish Month- Mese del Rafano

It’s Horseradish Month.

Did you ever hear about this? It even has its hashtag. #HorseradishMonth

Well, my vegetable garden is doing well this year, especially the cucumbers. I had to find some recipes to save them for later. You can eat just so many cucumbers per day. The recipe included horseradish, and don’t you know it, I had it in my garden.

So, here’s a pic of my pickled cucumbers. On the left is horseradish root. It’s strong stuff, almost like wasabi.

I’ll be taking a few days off. My hubby and I are going to the shore to relax. I’ll be working on my book dummy for a work in progress for a course I’m following at the Children’s Book Academy. I can’t wait to have a dip in the sea. It’s been almost two years since the cool water touched my skin. BUT, as usual, when we decide to go to the shore, it rains. Right now, this minute, there’s a rainstorm. Thunder and lightning, and tonight we’re leaving for the coast. Go figure.

Bene, il mio orto quest’anno sta andando bene, soprattutto i cetrioli. Ho dovuto trovare alcune ricette per poterli conservare. Ce un limite a quanti cetrioli puoi mangiare in un giorno. La ricetta includeva il rafano, e combinazione ce  l’ho nel orto.

Quindi, ecco una foto dei miei cetrioli sottaceto. A sinistra c’è la radice di rafano. È roba forte, quasi come il wasabi.

Mi prenderò qualche giorno di ferie. Io e mio marito andiamo al mare per rilassarci. Lavorerò sul mio albo illustrato per un lavoro in corso. Sto seguendo un corso con The Children’s Book Academy. Non vedo l’ora di fare un tuffo in mare. Sono passati quasi due anni da quando l’acqua fresca ha toccato la mia pelle. MA, come al solito, quando decidiamo di andare al mare, piove. In questo momento, c’è un temporale. Tuoni e fulmini, e stasera si parte per la costa. Vai a capire.

Passate tutti un meraviglioso fine settimana, sperando senza pioggia.
