The Valentine Scavenger Hunt- WC 206 Eleanor A. Peterson

Lena spent the days leading up to Valentine’s Day crafting clues and small surprises for Aiden. Each clue led to a special location with fond memories between them, with notes, small treats, and hints representing their friendship.

On Valentine’s Day, Lena set up the scavenger hunt in their favorite places around the neighborhood: the park, where they first met; the library, where they read their favorite stories together; and the ice cream parlor, where they shared an ice cream cupcake.

Lena gave him her card. “Happy Valentine’s Day.”

Aiden opened the envelope. “But, it’s a scavenger hunt?”

“You’ll see.”

Aiden rummaged in his backpack. “This is for you,” he said, handing her a book with hearts embedded on the cover.

Lena’s face flushed. “Thanks! Three, two, one, GO.”

Aiden discovered each thoughtful surprise along the way. The excitement built as Aiden realized the effort and care Lena had put into making the day special.

Aiden read the last clue.

Meet me at the place where we have just been once, but we wore the same sneaks.

Aiden smiled, remembering. His heart raced as he imagined his best friend waiting there.

Lena sat at the counter, waving Aiden over. “Want to share an ice cream cupcake?”

“Awesome!”
