I was skimming my files for an idea when I came across an early draft full of cobwebs. No kidding!
I had totally forgotten about it. It had been sitting in the drawer for years. It’s good practice to go through your archives of picture book ideas. You might find a gold mine! Well, with a few tweaks, perhaps. I think I’ll work on this one, yep, I’ll do that.
#50 Precious Words is not an easy endeavor. I enjoy these challenges because they help me be succinct and cut unnecessary words in my picture books. It’s like writing a short outline.
So, between March 4 and March 6, post your story in the comments of that #50PreciousWords 2022 OFFICIAL CONTEST POST. Here’s the link if you want to participate. Let me tell you. There are fantastic prizes too!
The International Cobweb Contest– by Eleanor A. Peterson WC 48
Spiky spun a superb cobweb hoping to win the contest.
“Fire!” the spiders spluttered.
“The only way to safety is by crossing the stream,” said Spiky.
Spiky convinced all spiders to pitch in and build a bridge.
It saved many lives and was a win, win for everyone.
