HAPPY LABOR DAY!

Happy Labor Day

It’s Labor Day in North America. Enjoy the company of family or friends at picnics, fairs, and festivals. Sit back and relax and relish the last days of summer.

Next Monday will be my grandchild’s first day at school. He’s all set up and ready to go. I wonder if he’ll sit still for 5 minutes?

Well, I don’t know about you but my summer was a busy one.

I just finished a course with the Children’s Book Academy. CBA courses have really helped me improve my stories and illustrations! I’m really looking forward to the upcoming Picture Book Palooza. By the way, I am the moderator for NONFICTION MEETS INFORMATIONAL FICTION.

Join us for 2 days of creative inspiration and instructions for your next children’s book at the Picture Book Palooza! Pay what you can afford to benefit future authors and illustrators. All materials will be recorded and available for two weeks. I hope to see you there.

After the event, I’ll be taking a brief hiatus. I’m exhausted. We moved from the second floor of our old rambling house to the main floor. No more stairs to climb with heavy grocery bags or carrying my epileptic dog up and down every day. I had a lot of re-organizing to do in the past few months. I’d like to concentrate on my writing and illustrations and bisque my clay projects that have been sitting on a shelf for two years.

Take care and stay safe.

As a child, I spent my summer holidays by the swamp catching tadpoles and other creepy critters or running after wild animals. I wanted to become a veterinarian when I grew up. But destiny turned my life around - I moved to Italy, where I obtained my BS in Environmental Sciences and Territorial Management. When not working in our family-run business, I write, read, play with clay, doodle, and go on scavenger hunts in the woods, followed by my six cats.

  1. Yay, you! Finishing the Children’s Book Academy course. And being a mentor! I really wanted to do the PB Palooza this year, but we have a big wedding that same weekend. And you moved! I’m exhausted just reading about it! Hope you get some time to settle in and rest. 🙂
