Happy Father’s Day Single Dads!

โ€œBeing a single parent is twice the work, twice the stress, and twice the tears. But also twice the hugs, twice the love, and twice the pride!โ€-Unknown-

The most challenging job while raising a child for a father is when he is handling the situations all alone. Fathers around the world have raised children all by themselves and done an excellent job of it, at times, even better than a woman.

When I was a child, it was the woman, the mother, who tended to be the more nurturing of the two parents, and her main role was to raise the children. Way back then, most women were housewives. While men loved and cared for their children, they didnโ€™t have the opportunity to spend as much time with them as mom did. The fatherโ€™s main goal was to provide food, shelter, and security for their families.

I donโ€™t envy single dads, especially if they have to care for a daughter.

In the 21st century, the mentality has changed. Many couples are separated. Women want equal rights and have a career to follow. Some wind up single parents because of the death of the partner. When itโ€™s the woman that passes away, the father has to play two roles.

Wishing all dads a  Happy Fatherโ€™s Day!

If youโ€™re a single dad, hang in there, Iโ€™m sure youโ€™ll do a great job of raising your children.

Iโ€™m a nature-loving adventurer and childrenโ€™s book author/illustrator whose life has been an exhilarating journey. Originally hailing from Ottawa, Canada, I developed a deep fascination for wildlife while chasing after wild animals in the swamps. Although I initially aspired to become a veterinarian, my path took an unexpected turn when I relocated to Italy. In Italy, I pursued my passion for nature by earning a BS in Environmental Sciences and Territorial Management. This educational experience further ignited my love of writing about the natural world and its diverse wildlife. Iโ€™m an active member of several professional organizations, including SCBWI, 12x12PB Challenge, ICWA, and the Childrenโ€™s Book Academy. Constantly seeking growth and connection within the industry, I engage with fellow writers and storytellers. Despite my affinity for all creatures, I humorously admit that my nine cats can be the most challenging animals to handle. When Iโ€™m not wrangling my feline friends, I spend my time writing, doodling, playing with clay, gardening, and exploring the enchanting Italian countryside with my husband. I also love preparing homemade pasta, showcasing my culinary skills.
